When we got settled in our new room, the baby's heart rate dropped again. This time it dropped in the 60s. It came back up pretty quickly. They put me on oxygen and gave me fluids to make sure that he was getting enough of both. I hadn't had much to drink today so it was good that they gave me the fluids. He has looked great on the monitor ever since that episode. He is also moving around a lot. They explained that very active babies get their cords wrapped around themselves sometimes. If it is wrapped around his foot or leg or something, his movements may be squeezing it and decreasing blood flow. This could be something that every baby does but every woman is not monitored. They are going to monitor for a while just to make sure nothing is going on.
I still haven't heard from the doctor about the u/s. My nurse said if everything appears fine, the doctor will probably not even come in. She had not heard from him so she thinks everything is probably fine with that.
Oh, I decided that I am not going to complain about the bed this time. I would much rather be in this slightly less comfortable bed with my nice window view than to be stuck in a small dungeon. And there really isn't too much difference in the beds. The only thing that would make this room better is if it was at my house with my family.
